About time Opus came out of the closet!

Since the Spanish Inquisition appears to have been unleashed, I figure I better come out too before they get me: I rooted for the Pittsburgh Penguins ice hockey team when Mario Lemieux was playing for them. But it’s all over now…

I brought this comic in to work on its initial run. We had a holy roller who had pretty much the same attitude. Stuck up prissy old fart.

“Apparently, I’m out of the closet”. Don’t worry Opus, you’re better off for it. That closet is small, dark, musty and cramped! Step out into the sunshine and warmth that is God’s love…unless of course you’re deemed different and unworthy by a judgemental society in which case you’ll be stoned, beaten and ostracized. On second thought, is there room in that closet for me?

Man, this was made in the 80s and it’s still as painfully relevant as ever.

The more a person says he loves America, the more Americans he hates, as a general rule.Traditional American values are the ones you think everyone ought to have. And, of course, you know best.And the America that everyone pines for, and wishes to return to, never actually occured. But when you’re a child, you are more sheltered. And so we often view the decade of our childhood to be the best one, and the one we wish we could return to, dragging the rest of the country with us.

You do realize that what you are comparing it to ARE the values of liberals and democrats.
