It’s a political carrot and a warning to the neo-right from the Europeans.

Or so I’ve been told. It’s the only explanation I’ve heard that makes any sense.

Turkey is talking peace with Armenia, Iran is letting in nuclear inspectors - but that could just be a coincidence.

Iran is letting in nuclear inspectors again. Until they kick them out again. Turkey talking peace. Nope, never heard of that.

I’d have more respect for him if he grew the cojones to actually stand up to Congress and the special interests, and try to keep some of his campaign pledges IN FULL, even at the cost of losing and killing any chance of re-election. Political compromise is inappropriate for some things.

Didn’t Hillary try to claim credit for the peace in Northern Ireland when all she did really was accompany Bill? He at least deserves thanks for being some real help there though.

Well, the rest of you can continue debating whether he deserves it or not – I’m over that. As for today’s strip, I can totally see this conversation happening – it sounds exactly like both of them, which makes it both hilarious and true.

    regan freed millions of euorpeans?

pause here for a slow shake of the head with despair ..

yep, he sure did….his staff woke him up and told him he did…and he immediately launched into a reminiscent story of his acting days……

It’s surprisingly simple - he got the prize based on the reversal of Bush’s foreign policy, which seemed to be comprised of “you’re either with us or against us, and if you get out of line, we have no reservations about threatening to invade. Heck, if you’re Russia, we’ll even throw in missiles all along your border in order to protect your neighbors, and we won’t hesitate to invade on their behalf after we make them all NATO members!”

Reagan freed millions of Europeans? Read the history, please. Reagan gave a speech to a wall, attacked a tiny little island, and bombed Lybia.

Or just keep telling the fairy tales until everyone believes its true.

The Nobel Peace Committee issued their reasons for awarding Obama the peace prize, after all the questions it raised. Evidently some people here have not bothered to actually read the “why” - they should.

The Nobel Committee awarded the prize to Arafat, Peres and Rabin in 1994. They didn’t get around to awarding the prize, for the same effort, to Carter until 2002, when they wanted to give Bush Jr a kick in the leg.

Yes, Ronald Reagan DID free millions of Europeans in Eastern Europe. His policies led to the end of the cold war the year after he left office.
