That’s a mutant lobster if I ever saw one. Lobsters’ eyes may be on stalks, but they’re close to the head all the same. I don’t blame Jon one little bit.
Of course, I’d also argue that Jon shouldn’t have ordered even a normal lobster in the first place…don’t eat the cleanup crew!
Folks, this is their yearly “dining out” storyline in which Jon takes his girlfriend out to dinner only to have him do something stupid that embarrasses both her and the waiter. Why do guys like him do this?
I was pinched on the hip by a lobster one week after I acquired my love for snorkeling. One other reason why I now only snorkel in lakes, streams, and rivers here in Florida. The other? Sharks.
Liz needs someone that makes her laugh. I’m guessing wedding bells in Jons future & of course Garfield will be best man. I suppose Odie can be a bridesmaid
Having grown up in Florida, I don’t know about freshwater swimming there. I rather feel the little “pinch” of a bug lobster than deal with gators and water moccasins. As ascuba diver with decades of salt water experience, I can say sharks are rarely, if ever, a problem.
Reminds me of a story from my parents’ honeymoon. My father ordered my mom a lobster. When it came out looking at her, he decided to be funny and tied the antenna into a bow. She took one look at the result and draped her napkin over the dinner and that was the end of her experience with lobster.
Aren’t lobster eyes all black?
I’m not really that sure, but aren’t the heads usually chopped off? I know in Chinese restaurants, the heads can be on or off, but I’m pretty sure he’s not in one of those.
Looks like a crab. Don’t they serve lobsters dead? Plus those are some really short arms. Do lobsters even have flexible eyes? Like stare at you forever until you eat it? Just don’t pinch me right? T-T

Why is Liz still going out with Jon? Isn’t this the 100th restaurant they can’t go to now?

Some women … are just so …. Speaking from experience, I can just see Liz with Jon in the long run … and I’m a guy.

@pouncingtiger: Lobsters don’t have eyelids. They always die with their eyes open.

Isn’t Liz going to eat anything? Or is she only having a glass of water??

I wouldn’t have ordered lobster so I wouldn’t have had this experience.

Don’t blame the lobster. My eyes would bug out too if I saw Jon’s tie.

The sparkly tablecloth and the waiter’s wardrobe make panels 1 and 2 look like a bad Vegas magic act. “I will now bring the lobster back to life!!!”

WHY does Liz put up with Jon?
LibrarianInTraining over 15 years ago
This is the reason I don’t eat lobster. I told my hubby long ago, I’m a cheap date. The deader it is, the happier I’ll be.
Plus, I couldn’t eat something from the cockroach family. Yech!

I’ve always thought of lobsters as GIANT BUGS.

I know they’re not actually related. It’s just that they look alike. And I ain’t eating nothing that looks like a roach. Yech!
