Luann by Greg Evans and Karen Evans for June 07, 2011
Transcript:
Gunther: "You didn't like the gown I made you for the pageant, did you?" Luann: "Honestly? I was.... surprised. But you made it, so I wore it" Gunther: "That's nice of you, Luann. But honestly? I was surprised, too. It didn't turn out like I wanted" Luann: "What did you want?" Gunther: "Something between Lady Gaga and Michelle Obama. But it went a bit too..." Luann: "Ogaga?"

I wonder if Gaga would have liked that gown. Somehow I think it didn’t expose enough for her tastes.

close Lue, I went "Oh God…. gah……… " as I almost swallowed my bubblegum when I saw the gown

Ogaga, with a little pinata thrown in.

It was… How shall I say? …more Björk than Luann?

I think that was cute..Ogaga..lmao! I don’t think Michelle Obama would wear such an outfit. But, I’m pleased that Tiff threw a “fitt”…lol. I think Gunthers’ next dress should make Luann ‘outshine’ everyone, then he would become a great designer. Did they have a dance yet?

OK, seem to have fixed the name issue….. My comment on LuanAlyzers was – I recall mentioning Lady GaGa at tge time, but the skirt wasn’t short enough and she would have needed to discard the trousers. Luann is far too respectable a girl to display her lingerie, but I suppose over a leotard or swimsuit such an outfit would have been OK.

Come on Gunther, give up man. Stop bothering Luann. You don’t deserve to be with Luann. Quill is way more interesting than you are….Duh…!

If you can’t see why a woman as intelligent and stylish as our First Lady has people excited, I feel sorry for you. Gaga’s so deliberately extreme you must be staring from the other end of reality to not get it.
tegm over 13 years ago
It was definitely Gaga material…

So Gunther was deliberately going for ugly, obnoxious and tacky.

(Slowing raising hand) Uh, Gunther? If YOU weren’t satisfied with the gown, WHY in the WORLD did You let Luann WEAR it???
StoicLion1973 over 13 years ago
Don’t sweat it, Gunther. Only the mediocre are always at their best.

Ughgaga.

That range between Lady Gaga and Michelle Obama is huge. You had a lot to chose from, although I (and Luann) would have preferred closer to Michelle Obama.

That dress was…….. more like somthing I think youd see in an old mivie or play or something.

What make you think that michelle obama hold a candle to LUANN?

The wife of Ceasar is above suspicion, not criticism.

Of COURSE Lady GaGa and Michelle Obama are impossible opposites! The conflict is intentional. Gunther himself is conflicted. He is in the process of sorting things out. He is at the age when that occurs.

I am still not sure where this arc is going. So far it is rehash. But I hope for something like Jonah appearing at the library with Shannon.

That dress was quite a “feat”. I think Luann was correct in using the “hallucinogenic” comment yesterday to get the ball rolling to find out what was actually going on in Gunther’s mind when he made that dress.

This week’s dialog shows Luann and Gunther having honest dialog on what could have been a touchy subject. As friends, they can interract as shown. As potential romantic persons, they would dance around the subject much like Luann and Quill do – or Toni and Brad, for that matter.
I think this was needed to resolve their relationship – at least as it exists now. Who knows whather Greg will revise the chemistry as Gunther (or Luann) experiences reversals in their other relationships?

Oh, come on… Why does the Luann comic strip have to suck up to GaGa and the Obamas too?
gimmickgenius over 13 years ago
But would they wear it in Ogallala? (Variation on the old “Will it play in Peoria?”)
RinaFarina over 13 years ago
ok, @diver dan, so why are you talking to cartoon? Because it’s easier to figure out a cartoon than real people?
Belinda Banana Ana about 13 years ago
I’d wear it.
