In my parts, we don’t celebrate 4th of July (why don’t Americans say July 4?).However, I did buy a pack of sparklers a while back, and was sorta saving them up …
As kids, we were taught to safely use sparklers – drawing shapes in the air was loads of fun! I never cared much for the noise and smells of full size fireworks – though my dad had his share on our street to share with neighbors (one at a time did theirs) I remember pinwheels attached to a tree and fountains of light in many colors.

Sparklers are fun…as long as they don’t burn your fingers or your hand.

I prefer 1st of July celebrations … but none of the cartoonists (even Lynn Johnson, who IS Canadian) seem to remember Canada Day. Tis sad indeed.

why use sparklers, but not fireworks that can blow off your hand? Or use Roman Candles.
