I did and so does my granddaughter… its was a safe place to walk, benches to sit on and you know were the restrooms are..correction was a safe place to walk way back then…and food courts…when you get hungry….
Greatest gag I ever pulled when being ‘people watched’ in Boston—stood on a corner looking up at … nothing. Had a fair few join me. Then I slipped quietly away. I always do something entertaining to make the watchers interested. My FBI file is probably twice the size of a normal American’s.
Yes, shouting is rude and repeats after all this time are just fine. My friend, Bob abd I have always enjoyed people watching-especially when we can also discuss their choice of clothes for a gala occaision (like Opera opening night). I design and make my own clothes.

@Susan: so true! No one wants to be the one she grabs when her water breaks.

My husband and I also like “flying under the radar.” Less opportunity of getting into any kind of trouble that way!

I have very fond memories of my Mom and me “people-watching.” It was such an enjoyable time—not in a critical way, but people are simply fascinating!
