Remarkably similar to what Assad & Qaddafi have been saying. It’s what those on power always say when their cities blow up around them. The response is always a crackdown on liberty.

The wreckers are mostly criminal gangs and an underclass created by socialist policies of encouraging lone parenting, discouraging marriage, lowering educational standards, removing discipline and destroying respect for authority and religion. The only surprise is that has taken as long as it it has before it blew up. Make no mistake, I and others saw it coming but no one listened. This is liberal socialism at work.

Admitted, generations of oppression are not equivalent to the threat of reduced government giveaways. The vocal & physical response of looters, arsonists & politicians is predictable, either way.

Yes things are just great for the top 15,2%, 10% leaving the rest of us nothing except unemployment, jobettes, and give no scraps to the poor they seem to think we are lazy. Don’t they know about bad luck and generational poverty? that is very hard to get help if your parents, grandparents didn’t have enough to send you to school and no one will hire you..

i don’t watch Fox News as I live in the UK. I have lived in the very areas, in the West Midlands, where the riots occurred. I know the streets where three young men were mown down and killed and lived but a few hundred yards away; I shop where the riots occurred in the centre of Birmingham (UK) and my church was threatened by the riots in another part of the West Midlands. I taught in their schools and watched the standards deteriorate. I was castigated for trying to uphold standards of discipline in work and behaviour. I saw this coming. So Fennec , Tcity, Tom and omQ R, don’t jump to conclusions. Tcity? That wouldn’t be from the trilogy by Mark Adlard? I was born and bred there before I moved to the West Midlands.Fennec, Friedland is a leftie who does not live where the riots occurred. It’s not the background that matters but the lack of any moral ethos. Nevertheless, the majority of rioters were criminal gangs who escaped before the Police grew a set and the underclass who followed in their wake. The sprinkling of other idiots only serve as ammunition for hacks like Friedland.Bottom line, I live and work here, where it all took place. Frieland doesn’t and neither do any of you.omQ R , I NEVER read the Sun and other tabloids. Want to be sued for libel?

The problem is in the food chain in the UK…it’s out of balance and caused by those in power who are greedy and not in touch with the real world..the world the rest of the UK citizens live in.

Criminal behaviour is criminal behaviour and needs to be policed and punished. That’s part of living in a democracy. And of course the Left will blame capitalism and the Right will blame socialism.

But Jeff has nailed one important factor. From Charles and Di, Greedy irresponsible bankers and speculators and politicians of all parties caught with their hands in the till through to adulterous soccer stars, corrupt pressmen (and women) and cops down to poor old Amy Whitehouse, the UK hasn’t exactly been rich in role models for our youth, has it?

the lapse in moral standards is not only germaine to the UK. how Britain could spend a fortune on the royal nuptials when the same money could have been used for a zillion other purposes is one of the obscenities of civilizations (civilized? hah!) of whatever political or religious persuasion or economic “class” – mistakenly persuaded by a corrupted media and a corrupted police force that there are any standards of sanity or morality what.so.ev.er. It’s clockwork orange time. young men in the area of spontaneous combustion were being stopped for their id’s with more and more frequency. if the answer to rehab and metanoia and agreeing to disagree is “no, no, no”, it’s fuel on a fire that even the murdochs who feed on such outbreaks and their aftermaths would be helpless to coerce. Nice little distraction for them, while they tidy up the dumbed-down scandal that left the police forces of England bereft via resignations of “leaders”.
