This date might kill the poor kid!

Ok, I had one of my posts pulled yesterday. So, what do you people call a male chicken, other than rooster?In our parts, we even use an expression like, ahem, rooster-o’-the-walk.

I am also better at dressing women (now don’t get cheeky) than myself. I have two rather beautiful lady friends who like it when I go shopping with them and advise on their wardrobe.It is sometimes very hard to be self-objective.

Hey, option three ain’t bad! And problem is that “costumes” aren’t fashion.

Gunther, Gunther, Gunther — button-down shirt, chinos, maybe a sport coat. Keep it simple; this isn’t the Royal Wedding here.

I don’t know, these outfits look like costumes to me!

Hundred to one Gunther will end up wearing the exact same outfit he wears everyday to school. Dating is a new concept for him and he has to experience it a bit before he learns to dress the part to please a female friend.

I see that Gunther has his mother’s hair. Too bad he doesn’t yet have her common sense. This date could turn into a disaster and scar the boy for life!

Option 4 and 5 are different but not bad for a teenager.

These are awful outfits, Gunther there is no excuse to be this unfashionable when you design clothes that … well maybe his mind’s gone to mush after his stint as costumer in WSS since that’s when he made Luann’s ugly dress, I suppose that would explain his behavior recently. Also his panel 4 outfit would be good if he were a hipster, though it’s still a bad look.

the Knute look is ok, but not for a date……….. and actually 4 would be real good if we took out the suspenders, and if we had Pants in panel 2 with top of panel 5, it would be really good, and looks like he has lot of shirts, is just that he does not take them to school

At THIS point I don’t CARE what the Heck Gunther wears!DO the DATE!!!!Just DON’T wear that STUPID “Billy the Bookworm suit!”…..or do a “Knute” and wear a Dress!

Gunther fashion sense seems to be stuck in a bad part of the Eighties.

Gunther dressed out like a peacock. Ok?.

Why are there no cool and smart father-type adults in this strip? Gunther is a typical example of a teen age male that needs an adult male mentor to help guide him through these rites of passage.

Actually, I think the second last one is kinda cool. Just need to remove those whatchamacallit straps.

Come on, Gunth. Jeans, polo shirt and sneakers. It’s not hard. You have a lot of clothing that hurts my eyes.

This is like the scenes in “DOCTOR WHO” where the ‘New Doctor’ keeps changeing one rediculous Outfit after another before settleing on “The Hat and Scarf”. (Those of you who follow the program KNOW what I’m talking about.)

Personally, I like option two so long as you drop the star-covered vest. The dark slacks and burgandy turtleneck look pretty good. I don’t think you can salvage any of the others.

Hey Greg, is it me or are some of these posts getting way out of hand? Either way, I really enjoy this strip and just wanted you to know.

To everyone who said that panel 3 is okay: check out the shoes. Pilgrim shoes with heels. Care to retract your approval?

as I said , Panel 5 top is real good, it just needs black pants, those orangery pants is what makes it awful, and even thought shirt 4 is loud, it will not be that bad at all without the suspenders, without the vest, panel 2 would be good too, but kind of plain; but it would be more “gunther”, as he usually does not go much for stylish

Wiselad, I am with you. Pants #4 and top #5. #3 isn’t that bad, it just isn’t him.

Ok, pair the pants from panel 2 or 4 with the sweater from panel 5 & we got a look.

In my humble opinion……the last panel with the black turtle neck and subdued sweater and change to black pants would be good. Or second panel without the vest.

One does not ask ones ma about how to dress, that’s just silly.

It’s that his mom? I have never seen her in this strip before. I guess Gunther and his mom both look alike when she doesn’t wear makeup.

Poor Gunther. Panel two is good – if he tossed the vest. He’s not Knute – so that is way so not his style. On the bright side – he’s checking out what to wear before the date.\.

Kid looks like Jughead in the 3rd one. It’s gonna be a rough haul for this guy. You just know Rosa will give him a good-night kiss and spin his wheels. He’ll probably try to shake her hand.

you’re all missing the point… This shows that Gunther DOES have shirts that aren’t plaid. It’s just that he never wears them.

He looks the happiest with the skater wear…lol..what’s making him choose these terrible combinations?What’s wrong with his usual wear?

@Mighty Mouse In the old site I couldn’t even mention my best friend because she was a cockatoo.

@Otto, I think mens clothes are easy to chose and very basic. It depends on where you are going and the taste of your lady. They are just going to a movie etc and are teens, so nice jeans and a good shirt (even a polo) is just right. If someone takes me out, I expect at least dress slacks and a plain colored shirt (ties jackets etc depend on location he’s taking me) but I don’t really like jeans for men over 30 unless it’s daytime of BBQ.

Did they ever mention who they picked from tiffanys audition? Last Saturdays last panel was she was asking who was picked. Now on monady the topic is totally different. Thanks

Soooooooooooooo, the censors are at it again! Just change the word to something neutral. Say, BOB, everytime you see the word BOB you think of the C word! How silly is this!? There are so many words out there that offend someone, somewhere.
