And if you count the “chirps” for 15 seconds, then add 37, you will find out what the temperature is… :)

Not all that uncommon: I believe it’s called “regression on the mean”.

The reason for having a number of chefs in the Executive Mansion (AKA “White House”) is that the Chief Executive of the nation (AKA the President) plays host to visiting heads of state and other important officials. I had a history teacher in Hong Kong who claimed that one of the superiorities of a Constitutional Monarchy with a parliamentary form of government was that the Head of State and Head of Government were two different people—the monarch and the Prime Minister. This is, of course, a simplistic way of comparing the two systems, but it has an element of truth in it. The president of the United States does have as one of his roles the ceremonial function of the Queen (or King, as the case may be) of England. This is the way it has always been, from the beginning of the nation.

My parents were 5’6" (mom) and 5’8" (dad). First boy was 5’10", I am 5’9", next boy is 6’2", next girl is 6’. I married a man who is 6’ and our two boys are 6’6" and 6’4". I guess it can work both ways.

More specifically: The sound is emitted by the stridulatory organ, a large vein running along the bottom of each wing, covered with “teeth” (serration) much like a comb. The chirping sound is created by running the top of one wing along the teeth at the bottom of the other wing. As he does this, the cricket also holds the wings up and open, so that the wing membranes can act as acoustical sails. It is a popular myth that the cricket chirps by rubbing its legs together.

I know when the president has Jewish leaders visit, all the food must be kosher. No pork roasts, lobster, or butter and meat together and no milk to drink with meat. I’m glad they respect their religion.

Why are some of you still bashing Bush? He hasn’t been president in 3 years! Obama has kept the 5 chefs so that shows all his talk about change was just talk!
