Anything you say can and will be inane. Actually, Bert doesn’t really care what you say. He doesn’t like you and WILL hit you with the bat just because he should.

I broke one of my vendors from that language. After receiving a note with several acronyms in it I asked for a translation into English. Don’t know and don’t care what the person thought. I got my translation and haven’t gotten gibberish since.

The irony is that while we can communicate faster and wider than ever, we’re chopping the language into something almost undecipherable to most people.Batter up!

Texting is so much of the social fabric of today’s youth that it may be impossible to find a mate without it. I can foresee where the human species will evolve to have huge thumbs.

Picture the mall of the future and a pretty girl walks by. One teen male nudges the other and says, “Get a load of the thumbs on her!”

I’ve never actually met anyone that SAID lol. I really don’t see the point. If something is funny, you laugh. If you’re so psychologically messed up that you can’t laugh, I suppose lol would do, but it would take some getting used to.

Any time I actually TYPE lol, I’m actually laughing at something, and is just a means of communicating it.

I think some people missed this distinction that was presented in the comic today.

If anybody uses “LOL” and doesn’t laugh audibly, we should tickle them until they literally explode from laughter.

PBS had a similar response. Only time I agree with Rat.

Had a friend who received a text from their Mother, “Honey, Scraps the dog peacefully passed away last night, LOL”. The generational gap put a whole different spin on the message!

I’ve encountered many an old geezer who will look at something and exclaim “That’s so funny!”.What’s the difference between that and a youthful person finding something funny, but not funny enough to squeeze out an involuntary laugh, and exclaiming “LOL”?

    The LOL LOL’ed with LOL.

The Little Old Lady Laughed Out Loud with Lots of Love.

I’ve been known to say “OMG!”, but only ironically…

Some friends were trying to decipher a text the other night which included “FI”. They thought it might have been an error for “FYI”, but in the context it didn’t make much sense. The best anybody could come up with was “F-.-.- It”, which didn’t make a LOT more sense, but, which is on the other hand almost always appropriate, more or less.
