Transcript:
Marcus: What do you think of our costumes? Jason: Be honest. Paige: What are you supposed to be? Marcus: Isn't it obvious? Jason: We're a couple of country pumpkins. Paige: The word is "bumpkins," and shouldn't you have southern accents, then? Jason: Well, we certainly botched THAT up. Marcus: Speak for yourself. My Lithuania came out great.

I think it’s a clever play on words :)

Paige evidently doesn’t do puns.

They are country pun-kins. Heh heh, get it? Pun-kins? Personally, I thought Italy was done better than Lithuania. Of course, not many know what Lithuania looks like. Or Albania, other than that it borders on the Adriatic and its chief export is chrome.

Uh oh. And I thought Jason knew everything. But I’ll admit, I thought it was a poor carving of Africa, and they had goofed on using the word ‘country’ – until the last panel. I forgot Russia and Poland are in the southwest, and Lithuania has less seashore than I thought. Hmm. Enough rambling.

Isn’t it great that we can continue to get fresh “Fox Trot” on Sundays? I wish Gary Larson had opted to do that for “Farside” instead of quitting cold Turkey. Or cold Lithuania.

I think their costumes were just a little too clever. It doesn’t work if no one gets it.

I thought the other country was Australia…

Paige gave Jason the boot.
I also thought Australia.

I am not really sure it looks too much like Lithuania or Australia. Good boost for Lithuania though – it is a beautiful country and has good beer and probably fewer pumpkins.

“Groans” Good thing that Paige give them the right facts, ’cause their attempts of being hillbillies failed. BADLY.

Puns are the lowest form of humor…. unless you think of them first.

That little disconnected patch of Russia between Lithuania and Poland seems too much like the Danzig Corridor or South Ossetia or other such excuses for war. Especially with Putin getting back in charge.

Laimingas visų šventųjų dienos išvakarės to all you moliūgas.

two-thirds of a pun…P U :-)

Um … maybe you should’ve cleaned out the pumpkins before sticking them on your heads, guys..Although, that does make for a funny last panel.

OK, when I read it, I thought the boys had truly misunderstood the expression. I mean, how often do you even hear the expression ‘country bumpkin’ anymore? Jason is smart, but he’s still a child. Paige didn’t get it, either way.

I thought it was Brazil. Could’ve gone with a different take on “southern accents” then, too….

Those with lower IQs or those who don’t appreciate learning almost always think highly intelligent or creative ones are stupid. It is what it is…

Paige just wanted to let us all know that country bumpkins existed only in the south. Way to go Paige.

Lithuania…now that is an interesting choice of a nation.
