Not the first time the feminine gender has come between two friends. In this case it’s Calvin crusty manly exterior against his subconscious affection for Suzie.

Hobbes is “glowing”.

Calvin will one day figure out that to be beguiled by a woman’s feminine charms is better than proving you have mandibles of death.

Hobbes is a man eating tiger, Susie isn’t a man.

In college I had a professor, a genetic engineer no less, with the first name of Calvin. His wife’s name was Susan; when she got pregnant I asked them several times if they would name their son ‘Hobbes’, but I only got a screwy look every time.

Happens to the best of us, Hobbes…..

I keep having a vision of Hobbes hooking up with M. Smokey from C’est la Vie. What mischief those two could get into.

I know the feeling. 52 years ago, I was beguiled on a blind date arranged by my brother while home for Thanksgiving weekend from college. Told my dad the next morning that I had found the girl I was going to marry. She has kidded me at times saying she wished my brother had been a couple of years older!

@Gretchen’sMom,I’ve never had a deep fat fried oreo cookie, but I’ll try one in heaven when they will be made with whole grains, and baked roasted or broiled. I’ll try to ‘hold the anchovy’ and keep it at bay. There should be a great gulf between us (an anchovy and me). That’s not very finny. On a scale of A to E, I’ll give it a sea. :o)
