Check out the Los Angeles to China directions on Google Maps. Worth it for the giggles on steps 14, 27 and 85.

It’s called ADVENTURE…. and if you don’t take this opportunity, you will probably regret it later. Even if it ends up being a total disaster, you will have stories for years and memories forever.

Well then, I’m awfully glad I don’t plan on traveling to those places anytime soon. I would like to see Hawaii. Maybe I better google it first though, :-D

I find myself likeing my longest trips under 100 miles and those only a few times a year. Day by day errands and such are generally all under 10 and usually just once or twice a week. I can find anything I want online, often w/o tax or delivery.

Shoot, LA/China is only a couple of weeks and change. You got to go on the ‘freeway’., not take the backroads around the ring of fire.

You don’t get opportunities like this every day. One reason I became a military librarian was this kind of opportunity. I was fortunate and got to spend 5 years in Germany and now 9 years in Japan. My son grew up overseas and was exposed to opportunities (that word again) he never would have gotten if I had not taken advantage of the opportunity. He’s seen historical sites, gone on exotic trips, and even spent 3 years as a model in Tokyo after graduating from high school. I guarantee that would never have happened if I had stayed in New Mexico.
