Zit, today B of A backed down from their fees on debit cards, they are starting to get “the message”. More of course needs to be done with RE-regulation, but we can still hope. BTW, before you mention the Durbin Amendment, it was intended to STOP banks ripping people off, but thanks to deregulation, especially under "W’, they just found NEW WAYS to shaft people. Now, the people are finding a way back. More power to them! (Also btw, social conscience is NOT “socialism”, it’s just good business under a true capitalist system.)
the film Capitalism: A Love Story spells it out very clearly. Wall Street is a Crime Scene. and the police, dogs of the System, are dutifully arresting the victims, at the bidding of the perps.
I think this cartoon is supposed to be more about the current state of the NYPD than about OWS. Check it out. Police may have a “job to do” but it’s not supposed to be fixing tickets for friends & family (& in some cases covering up their drug dealing etc.), or protesting en masse when the alleged ticket fixers are arraigned (a crowd of off-duty police chanting “down with the DA!” and cheering the defendants).
Please do not insult the police on our behalf. We don’t want to distract them from the consequences to them of Republican union-busting and deficit hawk cutbacks to the force.

Exactly right which is why the Tea Party are amazing with what they accomplished in a much more of a Gandhi-MLK way.
