And that dear friends, is an example of ‘Married male selective hearing.’ Just nod your head and say yes, sure,O.k.,right. And then later deny that she told you anything.
If I had a husband like Andy ( Which I probably will) I would put him in his place! I woukd pour the tea over his head! My mam said that she would be the " Mother in Law from Hell"
This is a very familiar happenstance around my house. Seems my wife always tries to pick the most inopportune time when I am engrossed in some other activity to tell me important (to her) information. Of course, the fact I usually am not wearing my hearing aids has nothing to do with it!
This is like the punchline of an old joke:A man was talking to a friend. “I’m concerned about my wife.”“Oh? What’s wrong?”“She goes around the house talking to herself.”“Does she know she’s doing it?”No, she thinks I’m listening to her."

As I frequently tell spouses, the hearing aids will help the hearing, but not the listening.

@Beviek
I wish your daughter the VERY best of luck in her new job. Hope she enjoys it!
It’s pretty hard to get jobs in the UK too.
Take care!
