In the 1917 Battle of Messines of World War I, 10,000 German soldiers were instantly killed by 455 tons of explosives that had been planted underground by British engineers who had anticipated the battle a year earlier! During the June 25, 2011, Maj. League baseball game between the New York Yankees and the Colorado Rockies, shortstop Troy Tulowitzki hit a ball twice with a single bat swing! Lingchi- or slow slicing, was a punishment of execution reserved for the worst offenses in Imperial China and tell it was banned in 1905. The condemned would have pieces slowly cut from their body with a knife!
