I think Ann misunderstood him – take everything Ann is – means she is sweet, unconnving, non-schemer, non-player = boring….then the opposite would be ANN! Thus Ann is his type. Ann only focused on TJ’s “take everything you are” and missed the rest. I suppose TJ figured she would.

nice zinger, she did a great comeback, because the exact opposite of “her” would be a “him”……. hate to say it, but they might be the types that would be the exact match for each other……… their banter is hotter than whatever Q and Luann have ever done

I think when TJ said “opposite,” Ann, who egotistically considers herself beautiful/uber intelligent/witty etc., takes into account that the opposite of herself as a female would be a male. Thus the explanation of her comment, “He…” But I wouldn’t put it past her to give it a doubleminded reference of calling TJ gay.

They are so perfect for each other.

Ann’s dress is appropriate to TJ’s first comment. She does indeed look like a black widow in this strip, but I think she’s the one who’s going to get eaten in the end. And that was one heck of a zinger, implying that TJ is gay. I have no doubt he’ll come back with a better…

Again, please note the pronoun in the last panel. When TJ asks her what he goes for in a “type”, Boss uses the masculine, “he”. Either this is a tease to have TJ make the first move or a poke to get under his skin and make him lose his cool. What will happen tomorrow???

Well, he did say, “Take everything you are and imagine the EXACT OPPOSITE.” I don’t think this is going to be a coming out party for TJ. I don’t think he’s gay. He just walked into that one.

I called them getting engaged a while back and I stand by it.

Ann smiles broadly as she says that an exact opposite is a different gender person, having opposite traits, and is boring. This shows she has high self esteem and does not believe in the old saying that opposites attract. Looks like TJ is telling her that he’s gay, and from looking at her face and her comment, she is fine with that! ’Or she thinks that she can change him!

She likes TJ, and the way he’s taken control of the conversation. She likes that he’s spinning his web – from one manipulator to another.

Is “He” the important part of this strip?

She can’t fired TJ. No one will work for her, and she would have to do all the work alone. That would close this WW branch.

Perhaps. But TJ is the most interesting thing she’s seen in a long time. You can tell by her smile, and the way she’s taken in by TJ’s turn of the conversation.

She’s questioning his masculinity. She allowed TJ to take the conversation to a personal level, and mean or not, she knows that she is hot. If that playfulness and sexuality doesn’t stir something in Laughing Boy, then I would have to wonder. Ok, TJ the ball is in your court.

I don’t think Ann Eiffel is the type to bring sexuality in as an insult as so many others have pointed out. She’s not exactly straight herself. Remember she attempted to seduce Bernice, Greg even said that was what he was implying there. .I can’t help but think there is a possibility that both of them are bi and Ann’s sensing it; though I’m not sure I could see Greg playing TJ as being bisexual. It would be an interesting though.

Only one person figured out what I was trying to say. My message was actually simple. sheesh. Basically, Ann actually misunderstood what TJ was saying. She heard only “take away what you are” and missed the rest, and responded that she sounded boring based on that “take away what you are,” and not the rest. The rest actually pointed back to HER.

Forget TJ’s remarks and reduce it to Ann’s “What’s your type, TJ?” and “He sounds boring.” She’s toying with him. Add earrings in the wrong ear, and an apparent immunity to her magnetic cleavage in the privacy of her office and you have reason for doubt. It’s also unlikely that TJ’s “girlfriend” will come in to threaten Ann like Toni did. Besides, what real man would take on a job just to get even with a woman for what she did to his male roommate?

Those of you who think this will lead to hilarious hijinks are giving Evans far too much credit. His wellspring of creative inspiration ran dry about three years ago.

I, for one, am enjoying this arc and Greg is doing a great job as usual. I heard that Dogsniff is back, but I’ve not seen a comment from him

I have been reading Luann for a long time but cann’t remember where T.J’s money comes from. Does anyone know? Isn’t he rich? Would love it if he is actually the owner.
