Here’s an alternative answer to the question about the car: “About a zillion miles an hour”…Calvin’s mind might fog over trying to absorb what that means…
A kid like Calvin will certainly keep a parent on their toes! And if he’s this way now . . . at the age of 6 . . . imagine what he’s going to be like when he gets older!
i used to always do this and one time it actualy worked and it was to walk to town and i was just about to walk out the door when my mom reallized what had happend.poor calvin.

Mom’s got that little grin at the end; she was amused by the attempt and her near-failure.

The part I love about this one is the fact that for just one millisecond, she was about to tell him to go drive the car.

Put Calvin on a roller coaster for an entire afternoon and he may not ask that question about the car for quite a long time….

…moms with kids like Calvin either quickly learn to " think on their feet"…even while reading…or go totally “NUTS”…

Parents whose kids make it to adulthood have a second layer of consciousness devoted entirely to analyzing Calvin-type strategies. Thanks, mom.
