Butler: Evelyn Kentworth? Sedgwick: Yes. That is the name of the young lady who has captured my heart... behind this curtain I keep a portrait... a private shrine to her timeless beauty... behold! Butler: Indeed, sir. Her eyes are quite captivating. Sedgwick: Yes. But unfortunately Crayola's "magic mint" can only approximate their hue...

If I were sympathetic to Sedgie’s unrequited love I’d advise him not to show his portrait of Evelyn to her, ever.

Why do I get a feeling this has gone from comedy to pathos? My heart goes out to this small kid that’s ignored by his parents and only has a servant to try and give him company. I need to go and give my kids a hug…

Seeing the kid makes me skip today’s… yesterday’s and some more strips and go ahead to the next comic. I miss Monty.

As much as I LOVE this strip, I can not stomach this character line (rich kid & butler). I’ve given it a sporting chance & just hate it. I’ll just skip those wholesale & wait for the good stuff without him!

Sedgie’s truly in trouble now. Magic Mint was retired in 2003 so the more portraits he draws, the smaller his supply of this sublime color becomes… [described as one of the fluorescent colors, by the way]
