I decided to remain unpilled for this strip so I could make some intelligent comments.OK, no sleeping pills. My comment is WOW, How’s that? And merry part.Blessed Be.
Welcome to the End. Population: You. We won’t ask you your birthday – you’re not going to be here that long. Do enjoy your stay.Dittos is the Ku-ray-ziest peoples.
(to the tune of Living in the Past by Jethro Tull) Trapped and I’m not smiling We’re a mile above the slaughter You know I’d love to tell you Of the hell that I have fought here But I can’t go on The words are gone for war’s disaster Now some show we’re given And we’re living in my past Once I had to join in Every enemy was fair game Destroying revolution The solution’s always the same Now some trick he’s played This should have stayed as past disaster You should just not be here Death you’ll see here in my past =|====/ Level Head Vote for Endtown 2.0 And for Doc Rat, too The Endtown Forum And don’t forget to vote for both For Ursa Major awards!
Wally have always seemed to look back. I think he longed for his old life but who in their right mind in this new mutated world wouldn’t? But something tells me this isn’t that part he longed for…
In Wally’s recollection The dittos are free to roam But note, on close inspection That looks like the gates of a home It’s hard to guess at where This revelation is bound But I suspect that, there, His family will be found =|====/ Level Head Vote for Endtown 2.0 And for Doc Rat, too The Endtown Forum And don’t forget to vote for both For Ursa Major awards!
Looks like someone got the ball rolling right down memory lane. Wally’s really lucky that he’s got someone who really loves and cares about him on this trip. He’s going to need all the love and understanding that she can give him. She’ll be able to help him see clearly; since we all have a distorted view of our past.

Don’t forget that Holly has a pre change life as well. She seems to have been strong enough to overcome it.Now she can lend Wally that strength as she did when they met.
PUSSY WALLYto the tune of Pussy Willow by Jethro Tullhttp://www.youtube.com/watch?v=evpbalSZamwOn the cloud wreathed deck of a galleon airborneHe clings to his tender mouse, Holly,And she comforts and coos to his shivering form,To kiss the Pussy Wally. In his fairytale world, he’s an agent elite,On a mission to save his home town,With the girl of his heart clinging tight to his back,As the tower of death tumbles down.Pussy Wally, in war-torn battlefield,Rubbing the scene from his young feline eyes.Runs from the pain of the bones burning, crackling,Cutting dreams down to size again. He longs for a great table groaning with food,Or to sink in a fout-poster raft,Or to wander the plains as a lone vagabond,His soul in a photograph.Pussy Wally, in war-torn battlefield,Rubbing the scene from his young feline eyes.Runs from the pain of the bones burning, crackling,Cutting dreams down to size again.Pussy Wally, Pussy Wally,Pussy Wally, Pussy Wally,
Using dittos to create a regression psychodrama is a lot more powerful than a lucid dream because the latter shut down when things get too intense. Fritz Perls’ Gestalt Therapy works the same way, by having the dreamer switch roles and identify with the aggressor in nightmares. A lot of repetition is necessary, until the the aggressor and his victim express and acknowledge what is really driving them and realize they are both part of a whole.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fritz_PerlsThe first hero is the trickster, such as the Coyote, Anansi, and Loki, and when they are benevolent, their cruelties are useful for the healing of their objects of interest. Aaron Marx does seem to have a wisdom behind his madness. Wally is lucky to have Holly to help him stay focused as he goes through his ordeal. He’ll make it through. I’m not so sure Flask will have the courage or humility to go through her own vision quest or dark night of the soul.
Does this mean Wally will not be chasing the ball?I absolutely LOVE this strip!!!Not only do we have one adventure after another full of surprises at each and every turn, but we also have commentary that makes me want to say,“Eat your hearts out, Siskel & Ebert!”.Keep up the good work, everyone!!!
Remember, the dittos are video creatures only. There is picture only, no sound. In Sparkplug’s case, his memory provided the dialogue. Therefore, assuming this is a replay of Wally’s memories, Holly only gets to experience half of the show. Maybe Aaron M. has tweaked them some way to get around this, only time will tell.
Will he do this with the others? Throw ditto spheres at Flask/Blackie? Petey? Or even Linda? Reminds of the “Dream Curse” story arc in the campy daytime soap opera Dark Shadows (1966-1971).
OH, they didn’t need This!! It was pixels and not a real balloon! Well, at least they have a change of scenery, but it’s for the worse! It’s hard to tell if they are in a dangerous place or just an illusion, but even in illusions it seems to matter what they do.
Okay! Flashbacks a la’ dittos. Reminds me of an old ‘Star Trek’ episode, which was built around an earlier pilot episode, Capt. Kirk and crew take Capt. Pike back to a planet where the inhabitants use the power of illusion so perfectly that reality and fantasy were indistinguishable. The dittos are master illusionists in the hands of Aaron Marx. Wally and Holly are in for one wild ride.

Speculation: Aaron is about to do to Wally what the dittos did to Sparky, taking him on a dark trip down memory lane and Holly’s going for the ride.

And the torment never stops as the crocodile curse continues.
Wally gets to lose everything again – only with Holly as an observer. Every bad decision – every horror there to see.
Perhaps Wally is getting the same judgement that he is setting out to Flask.
