totally agree, skip the “first 3”, can’t wait to see Han Solo in 3D.

I just think it’s funny that Lucas is retiring because of “all the fanboys ripping me apart” He need to just leave those alone and come up with something else/new instead of trying to keep cashing in on redos of the Star Wars franchise.

So? They can only go see it on opening night? It’s still playing now.

there must be something wrong with me. i liked the 3 prequels. they were not the first three, but they were still fun. i don’t think anyone can ever duplicate the *_wow*_ factor that came with the first three. in that respect anything fallowing would be a letdown.

Bleh. I LOVE TPM. It’s easily one of the better ones. People who get annoyed with it need to, like, read the Bane novels and stuff and then watch it and see it in new lights and think about how profound it really is. Knowing that the ending song (Augies Great Municipal Band) is actually the Emperor’s Theme sped up really helps too. They’re all so happy at the end and it’s sad. The 3D was awesome, totally awesome. You would have never known it wasn’t shot in 3D originally. I didn’t much like this version of Yoda though, too much like Clone Wars Yoda. btw, nothing wrong with Jar Jar, I love Jar Jar. I’m clumsy too. And he’s cute.

This is a ridiculous strip. Adults hated the movie, sure, but Talk to anyone who watched the movie as a child, and they will tell you it was the greatest thing since sliced bread. Dean should be totally jazzed, not serving as Tatulli’s mouthpiece. It breaks character.

I agree with Dean, but I have kids so we may go see it anyhow. I recall how very upset I was after seeing Episode I at the midnight showing. I had prepurchased tickets for the noon showing too that day which I saw and enjoyed better because I focused completely on the effects and less on the horrible acting and story. But that movie was sooo bad that I didn’t even see Episode II in the theaters.

i wish to state here that my statement is not an attack at Mr.Tatulli or this strip. i like star wars. all of it.i like “Heart of the City”.all of it.

I was a huge fan of Phantom. Loved Darth maul, and seeing the Jedi before the fall. I went to the 3D movie dressed as a Jedi with my custom built light saber. It was just as much fun this time around AND I got to take my 12 year old son who had never got to see it on a big screen! I cannot imagine Dean being so jaded as to not find SOMETHING to love about TPM!

Dean loves star wars. The “badness” of the movie I’m sure refers to how much he liked it and can’t handle it in 3d.

I still can’t believe that, out of all the people in the world, they couldn’t find a little boy who was cute AND could act to play mini-Vader… Jar Jar was annoying, but that kid single-handedly made the movie unwatchable.

I’m an artist and a writer. Someday I hope to be able to say I’m a professional writer. I write and draw what ideas come to me; to do otherwise would be untrue to myself.

As far as I’m concerned, “Star Wars” is the property of the artist. I agree with Neil Gaiman; he said that no one — NO ONE — tells him what to write and no one should tell Mr. Lucas what to do with his creations.

The same goes for the artist/writer of this strip. Heart and Dean have always struck me as being somewhat precocious so I don’t find Dean’s dislike of TPM jarring.

Personally, I didn’t care for the first 2 prequels, simply because I felt that Mr. Lucas forgot the mythic elements that made the original movies so compelling. But that’s my own opinion and I don’t expect anyone else to agree (or disagree, for that matter). Nor am I invested in changing anyone else’s opinion.

My only complaint about the rework of the movies is that I’m not sure if I’m going senile or not. I could have sworn that in the original “Empire” that Luke says to R2D2 (after the ‘bot is spit up by the big fishie on Dagobah) "You’re lucky you don’t taste good" and last time I saw “Empire” (my favourite of all the films) he says something else entirely. Sigh…

And the fact that this lovable goof was the one who made the motion in the senate that gave Palpatine ultimate power. Maybe he was a Sith plant all along?
