If you check library shelves in the last few years, there is now a preponderance of novels depicting historical & literary figures as crime solvers. BTW Hunter Thompson WAS a vampire…

Michael Crichton was a hack; I reckon he’d be grateful for the publicity.

Michael Crichton was 6’10" and had a middling grasp of science, so his book would probably be like a MacGyver episode, if MacGyver were a freakish giant.

Is this a knock on the new movie “The Raven”? http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Raven_(2012_film)

Yes, Michael Crichton is dead. And I for one, think this is a great idea for a story….no joke…:D

I honestly think you do Crichton too much credit to say he had a middling grasp of science. He had a small grasp of science. More than your average high schooler, about. And yes, he died about three and a half years ago. The world lost a wholly unsympathetic writer. (I remember reading Jurassic Park, the original novel, and thinking ya know, they should ALL just die.) Now, a zombie Crichton — that might work! You could capture multiple trends at once.
