He used to be peanuts about her, and she melted in his mouth; things started to change after that Reese guy began coming around. He withdrew into his shell. No use sugar-coating the facts; it’s over.
For those unfamiliar with the subject of this one, from from urbanlegends.about.com:What Is It About the Green Ones?Sep. 23, 2001: The good folks at Mars Inc., makers of a plethora of chocolate confections including the ever-popular M&Ms, have apparently decided the old adage “Sex sells” applies to candy, too. After 30 years of mostly ignoring the inexplicable urban legend to the effect that green M&Ms have aphrodisiacal powers, the company has rolled out new magazine and TV ads unabashedly exploiting the candy’s sexy reputation. In addition to the ads, which feature teasers like “What is it about the green ones?” and “You’ll melt in my hands,” specially-marked packages will contain green M&Ms stamped with the sultry, trademarked face of the candy’s animated spokesmodel.
Per Snopes.com there is/was an urban legend that the green M&Ms (and green jelly beans and green Gummi Bears) are aphrodisiacs. http://www.snopes.com/risque/aphrodisiacs/mandms.asp
No, no, no! It was the RED ones that were the aphrodisiacs. They said they quit making them because the red dye they used at first was found to be a carcinogen, but everyone knows that they were lying about that.
OK, the reference to the green female it is obscure to all but Star Trek fans. In the original series pilot the green women were irresistable and could not be denied anything by any male. Obviously in the realm of the m&m the legend is downgraded to an unfounded myth.
