Teacher: First up for show and tell, we have Phoebe! Phoebe: *ahem* I have something REALLY REALLY REALLY special and important! You should SERIOUSLY be sitting down for this. Kids: ... Phoebe: Um, good. Carry on.
It’s a funny thing — this strip is perfect for my 11-year-old granddaughter, but somehow I end up checking it every night. I guess even old geezers need a dose of simple sweetness every so often.
Thanks for the ‘sweet’ comment yesterday, Julp : ) I read somewhere that, to get Lassie to lick the appropriate face, they applied a little melted vanilla ice cream to the actor’s cheek. My horses loved sugar cubes, too.

Hmmm, now why did a certain quote by Robert Burns pop into m head just now? ( The one later cribbed by John Steinbeck )

I do hope Marigold doesn’t leap through the window. All that broken glass can’t be good for the audience.

But I would hope, in a room full of kids that age, there would still be some with the appropriate…attribute… to see a unicorn!

this ought to be interesting. the kids will see the unicorn, the teacher won’t (probably) unless…I would hate to wish that on a teacher…

It’s amazing how much she acts exactly like Millie. If you gave her fox ears and a tail; you couldn’t tell the difference.

Is this gonna be a singing frog situation with this unicorn? I’m new to this series.
