I remember years ago an episode of the Untouchables called the Pineapple Man, a murderer whose speciality was blowing up victims by throwing hand grenades at them. He had learned the technique as a soldier in WWI.
“Gernades do look like pineapples”-————————————————-To my recollection, they were called “pineapple” grenades when I was in the Army. On the other hand, the Germans of WWII had the “potato masher” grenades.
And of course modern grenades just look like baseballs. I guess they don’t sweat fragmentation enough to encourage it with patterning like on the pineapple type grenades. Weird, since the whole idea is to render a large area as unsurvivable as possible.
