Oh boy! Eggplant tempura, eggplant parmesan, roasted eggplant with gravy, stir-fried aubergine with onions and beef… rats, now I’m hungry. I want a giant eggplant, too!
The purple eggplant! Papoutsakia! Unpalatable if not prepared properly. The most common (but not best) bed-layer in mousaka. Not much of a a lover, however, my dear.

beviek, and anyone else interested in Coffee Joulies, mine arrived yesterday afternoon and I used them this morning. They worked great. My coffee maker brews really hot — the right way to brew. And my Thermos brand coffee tumbler/travel mug thingie keeps it very hot so it takes forever to drink. Except not anymore. Cooled it right down to a good temperature for drinking and stayed at that temperature throughout — though staying the same temperature throughout is a characteristic of the vessel I drink out of. There are cheaper ways to cool the coffee. I could also use a less effective travel mug, but if I sip slowly the coffee can get too cool. Anyway, 3 liters of very hot coffee turned into three liters of perfect drinking coffee with all five ‘beans’ in the mug. Reviews in other vessels are mixed, though one “not too useful” review I read used them in a way the instructions suggest not doing. They’re really for keeping coffee at a good temperature in an insulated container with a lid at that they work. And the coffee tastes better at that temperature. Their Joulies plus travel mug price is high, but pretty close to the price of both bought separately, I just already had that exact mug. more info on request and if I have more to say after more use, I will.
When my brother owned a sort of deli that also had individual pizzas, we’d make Deadly Nightshade Pizza — mostly containing lots of really hot peppers from my garden. Somehow we never thought to add eggplant, but it would have been good.
Y’all need to get your eyes checked. The first thing that came to my mind was that I was looking at the top of a large head of Frankenstein’s monster lying on its left side. What? I need to get my eyes checked? Pshaw!
I just came up with another use for Coffee Joulies. Winter hand warmers. Pre warm them with hot (hotter than 140F) water and then dry and stuff them in your mittens. Warm and toasty hands. Found that by going to get them an hour after I had rinsed them off and they were pleasantly warm.
Tomatoes, potatoes, eggplants, AND peppers are all known as nightshades – good to skip for people with inflammatory issues like rheumatoid arthritis etc.
Our dinner last night was grilled vegetable fetucinne with grilled vegetables and parsley pesto with eggplant. Teresa, was that you peeking at me through the bushes?
What’s really going on in the “Dolphin—Oops!” video? As I understand it, dolphins kill sharks by ramming them in the middle. Did we just see one dolphin murder another?

What came first? The chicken or the eggplant parmesan?

Are you guys all sure? ’Cause I was thinking big, purplish, furry dog with a grass-stained butt. And eggplant is probably better in lasagna.

There can never be enough eggplant, or enough oil to cook it in.
