Hmmm, we don’t look too happy at the thought of being alone with Quill?

Either that or it’s the face you get when you find yourself on the high diving board for the very first time.

I’ll go with the diving board thought.

I’ll bet that Quill won’t have any problem figuring it out.

is it just me, or does the strip seem to be preparing us for a time shift or something? suddenly, it’s college and careers. also, when’s the last time we dealt with Luann herself for this long at a time?

Ohhhh. Is she ready for unsupervised alone time with Quill? It would be a good bet they will make out. This being a family strip they will not go very far. They will break off or get interrupted. The parents get back earlier than expected or whatever.

Trust Luann to be virtuous unlike her friend Bernice who got hot and heavy with her boy friend in a wheelchair and nearly burned to death before Brad rescues him and becomes a hero.

Luann gets an unexpected opportunity for some growing up. Not to worry, folks. She’ll handle it just fine, more or less, and with assorted self-doubts….

Hopefully they won’t go up in flames…

Luann is a senior in high school…moving on to college next year..isn’t she a bit sheltered for such a young lady today…not meaning to push her to far but still…

I think Luann is trying to decide whether to tell her folks that Quill is coming over. Mom was definitely not at ease when he was over last time!

It would be the right thing for Luann to tell her mother about her and Quill’s plans for that day. Let Nancy make the call about whether she thinks it appropriate for them to be alone together in the house. It is a matter of showing respect to her parents.

Can’t decide if its Luann worried about being alone with Quill or worried about mom finding out. The teen wants to be with Quill but the slowly emerging adult knows its a problem. Since she suggested 10 to noon, she simply needs to call Quill and change the time to alter.

Will the sexual tension be too strong to be able to concentrate on writing “lyrics”? Will their raging hormones need an anger management course? Will Luann lose her virginity?

How do you retire from sitting on the sofa drinking coffee?

Nancy, if she found out Luann had Quill over the house at the same time they were gone, would never accuse Luann of planning it that way. And Luann didn’t. Besides, it would take Luann a couple of hours to work up to a kiss. She’d need a whole day to really get into trouble.

We all know that, at worst, Luann and Quill will share their first kiss. At best, Luann will fall apart into a quivering mass of comic clumsiness.

It’s painfully obvious Nancy overheard Luann’s conversation. Echoing the exact time “ten to noon” is a dead giveaway. Nancy wants to see if Luann will be forthright by tellimg her that Quill is coming over at that time.

She’s somewhere between 16-17, so no, she isn’t a senior – and she isn’t ever gonna be one, either. Everyone who has her graduating will be disappointed – the “saving for college” and “deciding where I wanna go” angle is just another future tease that Greg will work without actually having to deliver..My prediction is that Quill and Luann actually do get horizontal for about 15 seconds before something in the way of a game-changer happens. Either Nancy comes home early or Quill gets the call that his family’s going back to Oz, so they agree to put on the brakes like the wise little Rotarian 35 year olds they are. .Obviously the former would be a lot more fun, so it’ll probably be the latter.

Oh gimme a break. NOTHING’S going to happen. They’ve been riding this ‘friendship’ thing forever. Quill’s just a little more interested than Aaron Hill ever was. It’s Luann who doesna see the point of a relationship with someone who could up and move back to Australia. Besides, if you want actual sex, you read Brooke McEldowney. ;)

How about Brad is stuck with Shannon and he brings her to Luann’s from ten to noon??

Having put myself in a situation like this when I was Luann’s ‘age’, I’ll bet Greg will write it that she will NOT tell mom before they leave .. I will also bet that Greg writes it so that either mom or dad know. My dad passed in ‘06. My mom and I were talking about him a few months after, and I said something to the effect that he knew things, but didn’t always reveal them; my mom replied, “Yes, he knew about that time you sneaked over to D——’s house, even after we told you not to.” I asked her (after I caught my breath!) why he didn’t nail me the same day? She said, “Someone was watching you, since nothing outrageous happened, he decided to let it go … he knew how you felt about that girl.” Here all these years later, I thought I’d gotten away with THAT one. Nope!!
