For a second I thought the blonde at center panel was Sam growing up WAY too fast. Then I realized it was Drew (didn’t both of those used to be guys’ names?). Whew!

Ha. I thought they’d never get married.

Weren’t Joanie and the Rev a not-quite-item something like thirty-five years ago? Why bring it up now?

Because he is pathetic that way.

Where is Sam, come to think of it?

And Rick. His stupid kid would certainly lively things up.

This is the point where the villains show up. “You said it was in Hawaii!”

Congratulations to all. However, I’ve read the strip since the beginning and have trouble recognizing the “grown up” version of everybody. No way Zonker should be going grey! Or am I the only one?

Notice Drew and Boopsie eye-balling each other – a “mirror, mirror on the wall” moment?

I looked at today’s strip and thought that today, at least, no one could inject politics into the discussion. I was mistaken. A contortion worthy of cirque du soleil.

My son-in-law’s “family” are pretty much religious zealots, as in fanatics, where “wives are owned by the husband”. This concerned me greatly, and I made a comment to him after the wedding, and before the reception that with Toggle, Alex will never have to worry about. I calmly informed him, "If you are ever physically or mentally cruel to my daughter, I WILL kill you.’

Best wishes to Alex and Toggle, hope the thread follows through with humor, and humanity.

It’s cool to see The Rev again. He was one of my favorite characters oooh so long ago. “And the part of Baby Jesus is played by a hidden 25 watt light bulb”

This looks to be one of those very special weeks of Doonesbury.

They may be fictional, but I’ve spent most of my adult life with them and they are more real to me than, say, the Kardashians whom I have only seen or read of inadvertently.

Finally! A strip that is just great. No politics necessary. Just human interaction that makes you smile.T hanks, Gary.

What a cool opportunity for characters past & present to mingle. Long time readers will chuckle that the Rev is still carrying a torch for Joanie…

This looks to me like a brilliant visual homage to the great Pogo strips on holidays like Christmas day.

Its rare to see mike, bd, zonker, boopsie, and all the other classic Doonesbury characters all in the same CANON comic strip picture together anymore these days. But considering that Alex still calls b.d UNCLE. That means there all still very close to each other and that’s very sweet and heartwarming.
