TJ: "Just had a brilliant idea, boss!"
Ann: "Later. I'm busy"
TJ: "Doing?"
Ann: "Corporate wants managers to submit a "business boosting" idea. Huge pain in the rear"
TJ: "Hey, I'm here. Your rear just got de-pained"
Ann: "No, it didn't"
Annie must be an Awful manager if she doesn’t immediately see the possible connection between TJ’s “brilliant idea” and corporate’s demand for a “business boosting idea.” She’s already seen how he has built up his register intake.
The story arcs of TJ/Ann or Brad/Toni are MUCH more exciting these days than ANYTHING Luann/Her Friends/Tiff are doing. Spent an entire week of listening to her friend not being interested in a relationship…whoopdedoo!! Who cares?! At least we get more exciting interactions and storylines with these two.
Oh boy, here we go. Sigh! Now, either she’s not gonna use his idea, whatever it is, and it’s gonna show her epic failure at foresight. Or, she will use his idea, and take credit for it. But knowing him, he’ll find a way to sneak in his credit. Let the week begin….
I’m surprised she’s still here. I guess Corporate is unaware of the $150/day deal she destroyed when she chased away their best customer.Oh, well. Let’s see what happens this time…
people who comment negatively on this strip: The direction is the author’s, not yours. No amount of “ewwwww – more TJ or Yay! more TJ” is going to sway the author’s vision. If you don’t like an aspect of it, write your own darned stuff.
From yesterday’s strip— hope Mr. Evans doesn’t do a Funky-time-warp on us, skipping college and going straight to young-marrieds. Can’t remember a strip about college-student angst since Doonesbury. So TJ is going to suggest something controversial that will boost business but have definite problems. Will he suggest… 1) Expanding the building 2) Creating a sub-franchise elsewhere 3) Expanding the menu (hopefully not with “enhanced” brownies) 4) Creating a new promo (such as letting commentators have free coffee)Any ideas? Hugh, you’re right— a good manager ought to be able to come up with several ideas herself! But that’s now how Anne’s mind works. Unfortunately, that’s the only way TJ uses his mind.
WW sales have increased since TJ came aboard and the company sees more profit. The more you produce…then more is expected.TJ is slowly wrapping Ms.Awful around both his little fingers…and then….
I’ve got a brilliant ideaNo time to listen, I’m supposed to get a brilliant idea-At which point you begin to feel ashamed of yourself for not being more forgivng to one wiith an obvious mental handicap.
Last panel to this story line was Ox leaving in a huff because she wasnt nice because he didnt want to sign that paper saying he saw her getting bit. AWIll we ever get to see what happened with that?
I’ll bet you that one of two things will happen. Either TJ will tell Ann his idea and she’ll take credit for it or he’ll submit it himself and it will be so wonderful Corporate will show up praising him and consequently Ann, because she hired such a brilliant worker which will just kill her.

Ugh, not more tormenting of Ann Eiffel. These story arcs are always the most nonsensical and poorly written. :/
Stan King over 12 years ago
She really is remarkably stupid. “Tormenting”? Are you kidding?

Jokes on them, I would have read it anyway.

TJ’s brilliant idea probably is the “business boosting idea” that she needs to submit back to corporate. She never learns.

He is still there to cause trouble for her, right? (I know; rhetorical question.)
I’m guessing that when all is said and done, our favorite con-man will have a new job: Ann’s.

“TJ” & “Brilliant”?
The two don’t even GO together.
Well, We’re waiting.
What’s your “Brilliant” idea, Jackass?
Having Ox stand out front dressed as the Wienie-World Mascot and FORCE passerbys to SAMPLE the Company wares???

I think we will find out that he owns the company or has a lot of stock in it.

Hmm, seems like BS from the franchiser that enslaves me. Maybe I’ll get some pointers from TJ.
