Number Six…..nice. Was watching news this am, and a reporter went out on the street asking people on the street about the true meaning of Christmas; i.e., where was Jesus Born, I cannot believe some of the answers. We are a Bible illiterate society, but still want to participate in (as one government official put it) “gift giving day.”
…idiot – it’s the reason we have Christmas…now if you’re celebrating the winter solstice, or any of the ancient traditons, you might have an argument, but Calvin is concerned with Christmas…
How come such a nice cartoon turns into a forum for all of us to show poor taste ignorance and the need to try and influence someone else s believes?Do what you have to, I guess.Im going to keep getting my Calvin and Hobbes fix every day if I can. Merry Xmas Ill drink to that.
I apologize to all commentors for my retort to Omnius earlier. It was wrong of me. To explain why I did it:-I have tumors in my skull that give me massive migraines, which in turn make me irritable and impatient. Such was the case today. It would have been better for me to not read the comments and just stay in bed. I don’t know how my wife puts up with me on days like today.-Secondly, I feel no need to defend religion (as it’s conduct and teachings are often indefensible); only occasionally feel like defending God (as the creator of space-time is capable of defending himself), more like want to clear up misunderstandings; but often want to defend the Bible, as it is readily available to all as an open book, is long and needs careful study, and I feel derogatory characterizations are usually due to not wanting to understand it.-Third, another foible I fall prey to is the ego-trip many of us commentors have: believing we are authorities of what we think we know. This was clearly evident in my comment earlier.-I’m sorry you were subjected to all that baggage from me today. Tomorrow will perhaps be better. Please forgive me.

Give him a break…he’s seven. Even though the strip is 30 years old, the kid isn’t.

With enough disappointments in life, Calvin world probably grow up to be a (very) bitter person… like Dr. John Becker.

Calvin never grows up. He ends up in the young cartoon home with Charlie Brown and friends. Nobody from Gasoline Alley is allowed to visit.

If more people lived by that Book, we wouldn’t have all the war and hate. It teaches the law of love and peace.
