Barney’s eyes look similar to another Barney.

His nose too, Stagger Lee.

So, Barney Dhatkham owns Bedrock PC Works. Pretty sure that the “Barney” and “Bedrock” are a Flinstone reference and his last name “Dhatkham” is pronounced DotCom.

Why was Curry’s body arbitrarily left in Aquarium lot? (8/22 strip) Also any follow-up on ballistics w/ single shot? (8/24 strip) And both home & work PC access to wipe hardrive (8/28 & 8/30) but no security/surveillance video @ either location esp. Aquarium? ALSO— no trace of smartphone or mobile device w/ Curry’s E-Mail & files backed-up?

I’m not a crime/mystery writer but it seems to me there are other questions to ask & routes to pursue here rather than another Sam/informant scene…this one coming very close on the heels of last month’s Pouch tete-a-tete.

Random out-of-left-field-comment. Loved Marty Pasko & Joe Staton’s run on Plastic Man during the early 80’s. Always thought the balanced-obsessed OCD villain, Even Steven (Adventure Comics #475), would have made a great addition to Dick Tracy’s rougues.

What would be the chance of a character cross-over happening w/ that most obscure of obscure DC villains? (To my knowledge, the character has never been used beyond that single appearance). I know DC seemed to have some affiliation w/ the strip toward the end of Gould’s tenure as the company published the giant-sized DT special w/ the original Flattop story.

Like I said— random out-of-left-field-comment. But w/ characters popping up from Brenda Starr & Terry & The Pirates…wondering where DC might stand on something like that?

once again sam is referred to as “officer catchem”.. is this a slight of some sort? i thought he was a detective like tracy. EVERYONE calls tracy “detective” but they refer to sam as “officer”. whats the deal?

It’s great seeing some basic detective work in the strip, and given Tracy’s high public profile, Sam’s the man to do it.

A small matter perhaps ! (?)-BUT It’s been a ’ long time ’ since we’ve enjoyed this sort of light hearted Verbal Finesse (panel 2) - in DickTracy.- Clever ’ small talk ’ like THIS, can make a BIG difference ! It adds an extra pleasing dimension !

Why does everyone want to butt their noses into Sam’s life? He uses legal products and this is still, mostly,a free country…Whatever happened to the great American tradition of minding your own @# business?

Barney and Bedrock are one thing, but I wonder if the “Dot Com” last name is a ref indeed to B. Google…he did help Sam in his search!
