Not where I expected this arc to go. Was hoping for it to center on Brad and Toni. Someone remind me how old Shannon is again?

So, Luann… are you saying that if Shannon did have “boobies” you would allow her to try on your underwear?

I can just see the house getting torn up looking for a missing Shannon again. Only this time, she’ll be wearing a bra.

Most women get sick of wearing them once they have to.

No wonder they seem to grow up faster now.

Well, a boobie is not a dirty word the same way a penis is not, either.

It appears Luann is still not comfortable with her own physicality.

As Shannon babysits Luann, meanwhile, Toni and Brad are making new Shannons.

This Luann/Shannon arc seems less interesting – however it’s getting lots of comments. The rest of us are waiting…

Cartoons are meant to reflect everyday life and this one certainly does, too. Who ever promised that every second of life would be completely entertaining?

As you may not be aware, your comments alone are all making life entertaining for readers everywhere in the world…can’t you hear them laughing? Quit focussing on the the trivial.

I’m enjoying this strip cause it’s not about one character totally humiliating or slamming another. It’s not mean spirited the way the Anne Eiffel/ T.J. arc usually is.

I’m wondering why Luann didn’t just say: “‘Cuz it wouldn’t fit.”

Of course, then we wouldn’t have a strip to comment on.

Why is the TV & Luann on the right side of the couch today when they were on the left yesterday?

Luann is trying to deflect Shannon from her innocent interest in bras; because the topic, when outside her circle of close family and friends, makes her as a teenaged girl a bit uncomfortable?

And if she was sitting on the sofa with Quill, and a tampon commercial came on the TV, she would die of embarrassment. Most of us don’t get over that body embarrassment stuff until we have kids of our own, if ever. (Nothing quite like being nearly naked with a roomful of strangers while you’re giving birth to knock that out of you!)

when my daughter was four we visited a friend who owned a gelding and, as happens with horses, it was displaying it’s maleness. My daughter asked what it was we were seeing and before I could respond, my friend started stammering and starting explanations before saying, almost desperately said, “That’s what makes him a boy.” My daughter and I had visited the library a few months earlier and found age appropriate books to answer the questions about where babies came from, some of which were very informative. Wit this knowledge, my daughter looked at our friend, then the horse, and turning to me said.“That’s a penis, isn’t it daddy?.”As I said yes, my friend’s face blanched before turning red as she shook her head with disbelief.I still get a grin when I recall that day. There are also red-footed boobies, and common ones with black feet.

Only the Blue Footed Booby is a large bird with blue feet.there are others without blue feet, and not all Boobies have feathers though some look very nice in feathers

Instead of answering, “No cuz you don’t have…..” She should have replied, No Shannon, those are for big girls to wear."

Missed the conversation the other day about Shannon’s parentage. Here’s a new thought.

Being that she does not look or act like either her father or her aunt, maybe no paternity test was done. Or maybe she was adopted. So what male in the strip looks and acts like Shannon? Dirk!

Of course, he’s about 17 and Shannon’s about 5. But Anne flirts with anyone, you know. Ick.

Well… Luann doesn’t have much of boobies either. ;-)

My daughter is about Shannon’s age (6?), and I think i’ve had almost this same exchange with her. She does talk about boobies occasionally (her word, that she learned somewhere). I think I’m about as comfortable as Luann right now.

I feel like every comic has something sexually related…

It is totally plausible (possible, maybe even probable) that Shannon has seen Aunt Toni putting on a bra.

A thong would’ve been funnier. Harder to draw & explain to Shannon, but funnier.
