Rose is Rose by Don Wimmer and Pat Brady for October 07, 2012
Transcript:
Meemaw: It's such a beautiful time of year, Rosie! Rose: I'm reminded of the story Peepaw used to tell me about the fall foliage recruiters! Meemaw: oh, the elite squadron of leaves that are the first to change color... Meemaw: and then bravely drop from their branches... Meemaw: showing off their vibrant hues to the millions of other leaves... Meemaw: Inspiring each and every leaf to dramatically alter their tints for a greater...more visually stimulating purpose! Meemaw: Of course...there is no scientific data to back up his claims! Rose: Botanists have argued that Peepaw may have made up the entire tale!

I wonder what little Vicki would be like? Did Rose have the Vicki persona when she was a kid?

I thought she called her mother mamma and thought she would call her father daddy. I didn’t know she used the same names Pasquale called them by.

then, you rake them all out into the street, or the neighbors yards. don’t like leaf blowers? sue the management for the chips and scratches on your car. include the deductible in your charges. no more leaf blowers.

Leaves are biodegradable…. don’t blow them anywhere, eventually they won’t be a problem.

It is likely Rose is talking about her maternal grandfather, who was probably a WW2 veteran (maybe a paratrooper). Maybe Peepaw told young Meemaw the same story when she was a little girl.
