Speaking of which, jokes about masking are less poignant with every passing year, particularly when they are posted a few weeks after the previous Fourth of July week where there was another grilling fiasco and nobody wore masks at that time. Woops.

People were wearing masks to Ed’s “grill-outs” long before he started creating Killer Smog (another Chuck Ayers-illustrated beer for Lock 15 Brewery?), because masks have the beneficial effect of keeping whatever it is he’s “grilling” from entering their digestive systems.

Just to beady-eyed nitpick a little: Ed’s family was depicted without masks in yesterday’s strip. And the day before’s.
