We know that Honeymoon is a fan of Japanese anime and music, too, I think. Is the dialogue in that last frame Honeymoon recognizing the show or person they are watching? Do any of you recognize it as a reference to a known thing from Japan?
The collective shape of the show attendees puts me in mind of south western US Indians. What industrial essential utility corridors are Tracy and Guvador wandering in their search for the secret meeting place of the soon-to-be Earth invaders. They are coming out of the Earth the way that creature came out of the Jupiter miners.
The Ambassador invited Mysta and Honeymoon to NMV not to meet “relatives” but for a certain purpose which I believe is to help the Ambassador thwart the plans of the other NMV faction. How can Mysta and Honeymoon help when they have not learned how to fully maximize the use of their powers. The two are no match against moonies of their age.
Mysta and Honeymoon will probably use their charms during a zapping battle. :)
At this rate, the Moon people are going to turn into the aliens in Galaxy quest (in this case, the Moon Governor would have shown up at Warren Beatty’s house to ask for help).
So rogue Lunarians are plotting to conquer the Earth, one of the rogues is cozying up to Mysta, and the young Lunarians are obsessed with Earth TV.…Um… okay…
The giant screen was in the public square in Moon Valley. We saw it destroyed along with rest of Moon Valley when Diet Smith took Tracy and Honeymoon there (link below). The absence of oxygen and Lunarians led to the mystery that is now being addressed. It makes sense that in creating their new home, the Lunarians wished to have some familiar amenities. While young people have gathered for entertainment, the screen could be used in other ways. Here’s hoping the traitorous faction does not gain control of the big screen. Propaganda can poison the unwary as it spews falsehoods. It would be a bit of fun for Super Lime Mage to be a story within our story, but I expect we’ll return to the purpose for the visit.
the rebels havn’t got it, the kids like human media. This is klike japanese americans in hawaii in the 1930’s. people moved from japan to Hawaii to earn money to buy houses when they went home, but the kids grew up far more American than japanese and would not fit in. On dec 7 1941 when the national guard forces were called out to repel an expected invasion, most of the men who shouldered a rifle to defend the beaches were nissei
2-BONE-AIR: This is as close as we can come to having a music festival. No Lunarian can sing or play a musical instrument so…
3-…we steal the TV feed of boy bands or tween-girls who also can’t do those things.
HONEY: That’s why we humans invented Auto-Tune, silly. And programmable instruments. The only real talent you need is the ability to program!
BONE-AIR: Lunarians can’t do that either.
SATISFACTION SURVEY: Would you be more or less likely to give a “Like” to Another Take’s efforts if he toned down the off-color material, e.g. Bone-Air, Honeys Moons? Thank you for your response.
WOO! Big-Screen Anime! In the ancient times, people had to migrate to “Universities” to attend the meeting of “Anime Clubs” to watch anime on the big screens in “Lecture Theatres”. This seems much better! :D
Is Super Lime Mage anything like Sailor Moon, which is the only comparable (?) thing I’ve watched a bit on broadcast TV (no cable)? Whatever. Honeymoon and Zonar seem to like it. I am so tempted to call that boy Zonker….
We are just Marking Time from the main plot-line, it seems….
Segments like this past week once again have me wondering just who Mike thinks the general Dick Tracy audience really is. Strips that celebrate Japanese anime seemed aimed at a more adolescent audience, an audience that 1. Does not read Dick Tracy & B. Will never read Dick Tracy. While some readers may enjoy these stories, many others do not, & they clearly are speaking out. Can Mike, can the strip, really afford to lose many more readers?

Why does Super Lime Mage have Lunarian eyes. Is she “one of them”? And why does her tambourine look so odd?
