Today would have been Charles Shulz’s 100th birthday if he were still alive. Several events are going on this year to commemorate it. For Will Eisner’s 100th birthday, there was a whole story, but I’m sure that this is just a one-off.
When I got my first job part-time as a young teenager, I spent a lot of what I earned on Peanuts paperbacks. I have an affection for it.
I had to look to make sure I didn’t click to a different place. That this is/would be Mr. Schulz’s one-hundredth B-day I am in full accord with the tribute and like how it ‘marries’ two different strips.
Great tribute by Mike & Shelley to arguably the greatest daily comic strip cartoonish of all time.I guess a new Dick Tracy story will start tomorrow. Maybe we’ll finally learn more about the old man in the garage & his connection to Tracy. It could make for a great Christmastime story. But I’m not holding my breath, either.
I liked the Baby Blues tribute to Peanuts (a comic that ran out of new ideas decades before it sorta ended (dam reruns in my online* newspaper take up room that could go to a deserving new comic. And that goes for Doonesbury too! Except for the Sunday new ones)
Didn’t want anyone to think I read an old analog newspaper and then went around with ink on my hands all day. (I kinda miss spreading one out on a lazy Sunday though)
Now, that’s funny. —An unexpected tribute to Sparky, and well-executed: Snoopy as Flattop is wonderful, and integrating Charlie Brown’s trademark zigzag decor into Tracy’s yellow trenchcoat is also clever.
The 100th anniversary of the birth of Charles M. Schulz….
Nicely done. Peanuts and Dick Tracy, in my opinion, anyway, are probably the greatest two newspaper strips in history. And, in my opinion, this is the only way I care to see crossovers in this strip… an obvious, one time tip of the cap to another strip. I’m glad this wasn’t handled the way of so many other crossovers here

Excellent! Well done tribute to an icon.
Can we get a whole months worth? It would be better than the normal unsatisfying stories of late!

I was truly looking forward to a surprise development in the existing story. I guess it really did finish with a big fart and a little belch.
