Wait, if the Grays are FBI agents working undercover as part of Sirob’s gang … wouldn’t they know where Sirob’s hide-out is, & wouldn’t Tracy be able to arrest him there …. in fact, wouldn’t this whole fake kidnapping be unnecessary?
“Uh uh. I know what you’re thinking. “Did he fire six shots or only five?” Well to tell you the truth in all this excitement I kinda lost track myself. But being this is a .44 Magnum, the most powerful handgun in the world and would blow your head clean off, you’ve gotta ask yourself one question: “Do I feel lucky?” Well, do ya, punk?"
Okay, so I looked back and it appears as if Tracy and Warbucks were familiar with one another to some degree when the first Annie story took place in Dick Tracy, so it makes sense to me that they met before Annie was born. As far as Warbucks knowing Annie’s parents beforehand, well, that may be another story…
’A’right! A’RIIIIGHT! I ‘ll ’fess up an’ mebbe we kin make a DEAL! SAM is behind all this. Us grunt workers call ‘im KING SAM, ’cuz he says he’s he legit heir ta’ the realm of Bowtie in Normandy. Hones’ly, I figger he’s a NUT! He’s wantin’ ta’ glom onta Baldys’ stash o’ quality toilet paper."
CHARLES E.! You forgot to draw musical notes and a few lyrics of HOT BLOODED in Panel 1 to indicate the bad guy was rockin’ out too much to hear the posse approaching!
1-♪♪♫ HOT BLOODED, CHECK IT AND SEE! GOT A FEVER OF A HUNDRED AND THREE!
2-DT: TURN IT DOWN, PUNK! Rich folk around here don’t have to put up with you kids and their loud music and hot rods! GET OUT! FEET BACK AND SPREAD ’EM. No,..NOT your cheeks…
3-DT: You should a stayed in your “hood”, punk. It’ll be a long time before you hear your filthy “songs” again! You’re just lucky you had your seatbelt on or you’d be looking at an additional 5 years in The Big House!
Wow, I now see Charles’ handy work…2 panel faces too long, gun over sized, Tracy’s hat too small. 3 panel hat too large on Tracy. Exit from car not shown! May be I amto critical but the art, at this point, not the quality Shelley showed. What say otherreaders?
I remember reading in one of the DT collections CG and HG had become friends, Then when DT surpassed LOA in popularity their friendship was strained. I believe the commentator said that the two men were able to get past it and remain friends.

That’s a pretty modern looking car. Isn’t this supposed to be in the past, or has Mike’s story completely confused me.
Mr. Excitement, help me out!

Okay, the Gray’s and Warbucks decoy from t he front—-the dummy never sees Tracy come up on the other side of the car.
It’s an old trick but it still works.
