Credit is finally given to the anonymous homicide investigator that came to see Tracy, but she still doesn’t have a name. I suppose she represents the department and not herself personally.
Oh, I see how law enforcement works now in Tracyville. A crime occurs. Regular detectives do the initial spade work, then bring it to the MCU. Tracy & the MCU team sit around drinking coffee & doing gag-a-day strips, until the answer drops into their laps. They make the arrest & reap the credit. Got it.
Young Pierce has a sad resignation about him today but at least the mystery has been cleared up. I would like this finishing up better if it had been preceded by some genu-wine action. Homicide(al) lady looks frighteningly intent while copper escort guy has that wotta fruitcake ! look. ‘Zombie hands’ should be thinking of the more expanded good times she can have with the soon to be retired ball king, with all that money he didn’t lose.
A very quick low key / peaceful ending. I was hoping part of Mr Gabriel (the fat bad guy) would end up in one of his old time printing presses. The famous line by Perry White from The Adventures of Superman (1951-1958 or there abouts) comes to mind " Hold page 1 for a replate".
Are we going to see the angels captured and the crypto currency recovered? Is the story going to continue? Will they be back for some future arc? Are we simply supposed to forget all about them?
1- PETER PIERCER JR: So…did you get the money back, Tracy? DT: Shore did! Oh. And I’m now your Legal Guardian. Can’t have a youngster like you running through all that dough! Well – all the dough I haven’t already spent so that you’ll have a lovely house to visit when we’re together and your choice of several cars to ride in when I take you on an outing… son.
2- HOMICIDE HOLLY: Yep. Still dead. SOMEBODY BURY THIS DUDE!!!
3- SUPER TRAMP: I SEE THAT OBSCENE GESTURE YOU DIRTY #$&*# NO GOOD @&^#&!
It may not be over. What did the anonymous homicide investigator discover? Ms. Van Duivel looks ready to pounce. The uniformed cop in P. 3 looks alarmed. It’s only Tuesday. There may be (should be) more to come!
The last name of the woman from homicide is Duval. Her branch of the family tree changed their last name from Van Duivel sometime after immigrating to America from the Netherlands in the 1600’s.
A rather abrupt and certainly whitewashed ending to the saga of Angel Gabriel and his Cherubim and Seraphim (Cherry Bihm and Sara Phym). A recap from “a few days later” (after the slow paced day-by-day trickle of story-crawl) avoids (alas for the Good Old Days of this “action” strip!) any gun-play or (faux shudder) violence. Eh.

Thank you everyone for your thoughts and prayers.
Surgery went well.
Lying in hospital bed as I type this.
To be truthful, I am in a lot of pain.
Looks like I have a long and winding road ahead.
AND I get to do it all over again in a few months.
I’m definitely going to need some time at Gweedo’s Goat Farm after this.
Thank you again, your prayers and encouraging words meant a lot.

I guess all’s well that ends with a big THUD….

The first panel is poignant and explains why Tracy and Company saw the case through to t he end.
And they found a pair of cuffs big enough to fit Fatso.
