With Eric’s amorous voracity for details that he hasn’t given the Homicide Detective a name. Maybe he thought that adding that detail would make the story too laborious for us to handle? /s
These guys are working in the dark. Nameless (still) detective lady conveys the gravity of the situation to men who right now would rather be playing a game of johnny grabass.
See what happens when you let fare cheaters get away with it? The transit system can’t even afford to pay for a working surveillance system or competent guards. Cities never learn…
Okay, a real TA will likely be a little more careless than a real PD (Not to say that every PD is on top of everything security-wise.) But this level of negligence may be a little overboard, albeit not impossible.
Of course if it means we will be told it was pure coincidence that all the cameras glitched out at exactly the time of the killing our disbelief is being suspended rather far.
It a absolute mess eh. So that ees why you ees cut yours beeg long hairs eh Goldilocks. And obveeously as you ees a sneakeeng een expert youself, me sure you ees gonna gets the sneeaky keellar who was sneeaks een there.
…..the whole mess MIGHT not have happened if that confounded TWIX bar hadn’t got caught up in the chute (refer SEINFELD episode, George at the candy vending machine)………
1- DT: We got one cup of snail coffee left. Whoever can shed light on this crime of the century gets it.
2- THE HORSE WITH NO NAME: That’s no incentive – I got a can a Coke, a coffee and a partially eaten Whopper waiting for me at Homicide. But I’ll share what I know anywho…
3- : …So Officer Pornstache claimed the deceased looked like he had low blood sugar so Pornstache left him to get him a candy bar in an effort to stave off a potential lethal coma…
4- : …Thing is, we have all these witness who saw Pornstache eating the candy bar while the deceased was being …made deceased…
5- : …So – was Pornstache derelicting…uh…not taking care of business or was he an accomplice in this heinous murder? DT: Say again? I was drinking the last cup of snail coffee and not really listening…
The team really needs to work on their proofreading. The header spells her last name E-T-H-E-R-I-D-G-E, but in the text (twice), it is spelled without the E that I presented in bold.
The CTA (according to news stories I read,) keeps asking for more operating funds. Maybe it should ask for more funds for security, because I’m seeing SOME parallels between real life and here. (again from news stories.)
Thanks to work and other factors, I can only read a week’s worth at a time. And so far, I’m really liking the storyline. It reminds me of the early Gould strips that would focus on investigation and other procedural elements of the case.
Sir Charles, we all seem to agree, is a fine artist. But his Tracy is looking less and less like classic Tracy. (I know, I know. I was spoiled by the artist doing the last MM, who really excelled at giving the strip a classic Gouldian look.)
This is pretty true to life.Out here in NYC,Riker’s Island jail is a disorganzied mess and teh Mayor paid a fortune for “weapon detector” mechanism that was junked after only a few months and proved totally unreliable.

Another day at the TA before the tragic glitch
Casual approach shows sloth. Guards sleep at the switch.
Guard does check his phone again. Living in the screen
While right behind his back does lurk a killer who’s unseen.
Victim could not make a sound, could neither scream nor shout
What might be the motive for to take the lowlife out?
Police they see a fake ID. Few facts provide no traction.
But blood tends to beget more blood, so be prepared for action.

Well now we know where all the individuals who couldn’t hack it for regular police duty wound up getting assigned.

All this because of a ticket to ride. And the staff need to train more.

Another day of spinning wheels. The saving grace is the artwork by Charles, but even then the writer gave him little to draw except talking heads.

So far all Tracy is doing is wandering around the Squad room, dispensing orders.

Do the GoComics servers give those of you who PAY faster service or do their HAMSTER SERIES 1000 servers drag for everyone?

This is how to say this facility was run by the lowest commercial bidder, without actually saying so.
