The whiners are a key part of every corporate structure from the smallest to the largest. A few minutes of observation will confirm this.

What does a “defective” poodle look like?

It takes skill to be able to sell something the company that made the product couldn’t sell.

So, is that “three-legged poodles” defective or “open in the back” defective?

Back when I was more into that kind of stuff in the seventies, there were several companies that dealt in surplus electronic (and allied) equipment and components. I remember, for instance, that one of them offered some front-surface mirrors with a corner cut out, surplus from Xerox 914s. I see that the one I remember in Lima OH is closing in May, but that there are still a bunch of them around. As someone who loves browsing in used-book stores and stationery stores, I loved browsing those catalogs, and even occasionally buying stuff.
