Cruises can be amazing. I always had a blast. Most people gain seven lbs. on a week-long cruise, but I lost a few because I was so busy. I swam, danced, sang karaoke, took tours, and even sang in the passenger talent show.
Sea Cruises: A floating, all you can eat buffet motel, moving slowly across an ocean (or sea) at ~$2.00 per mile per person, only stopping for strangers living in out of the way places, who know better than to take Sea Cruises, to take more of your money.
We’ve done one small ship cruise, and it was a fun experience, but I don’t expect to do it again. They do seem awfully expensive though (I know, ship operations and the large staff costs a lot to maintain, but plenty of people seem to be able to afford it). I will admit I really enjoyed the food and seeing new and different places. It often makes me think of how my grandmother’s fondest wish was to take an ocean voyage to Hawaii, but my grandfather said no way; after he’d been shipboard going overseas during World War I, he swore he’d never get on a ship again (he said he’d go when they built a bridge)!
I know it’s a comic, but, I find it totally disrespectful of a partner, to do something as big as booking a cruise, without discussing it with the “other half,” first.

My nephew and his wife are spending $13,000 on a cruise. What a waste. Just tear up the money and throw it in to the ocean.

I didn’t know you were so rich! But don’t worry Ralph, you enjoyed the food didn’t you?

I thought they were banned. Must be another cruise line.

There was a song by Jay Ferguson, the “Thunder Island” guy, called “Shakedown Cruise.”

I doubt we will ever go on a cruise, I’m ex-Navy and my wife gets motion sick easily.

Sorry, but going on a cruise to me is like living in a human Petri dish.

My wife has finally decided to retire. I’m in hopes we can find a nice river cruise someplace. Perhaps the Nile or one of the European offerings.

Another cruise? Inheritance, or does “security guard” pay better where they live?

I guess other than the buffets, Ralph didn’t like the cruise that much.
