1) You’ve been told over and over again that it’s “hard”, so you don’t actually try to understand it. (In that respect, is “math bigotry” very different from racial bigotry?)
2) It’s a system of “rules” which cannot be fudged, not matter how hard you try. Some folks (no names here) can’t tolerate that.
