Paris? Around the world? Why is that necessary? I didn’t have a honeymoon that fancy and I don’t think you have to do that in order to have a "real honeymoon. "

Hey, Gordon, Niagara Falls is really close, and you don’t have to spend a lot of money.

We planned on going to a nice vacation spot in our state when we got married, but my dad had a stroke the day of our wedding so no ‘honeymoon’. Lots of trips since then and we’ve been together 46 years so it’s not the honeymoon that makes or breaks.

Ok, by golly….I’m gonna contribute to their honeymoon! And Gordon better take care of that woman, or I’m going to marry her!

My honeymoon was 30 miles away from home, chosen for 2 reasons: 1, it was a beautiful 3-storey old home; and 2, I didn’t trust my car to go much further than that.

She doesn’t want to go around the world?

So take her home to Paris.

There is actually a Paris in Ontario. Some 100 miles or so from Niagara Falls. (I’d have to look it up on the map).

We were able to have our honeymoon a few days after the wedding – but I’ll agree with Tracy that stepping across the threshold at our house as a newly married woman was something special.

Their relationship is more important than all the other stuff. After Sunday morning sailing for three years, my future wife booked our Honeymoon at Virgin Gorda in the British Virgin Islands; we came home to Phila, built our first home, had 3 kids, and then in ’73 moved permanently to St. Croix. Only my wife has steered our sailboats for 50 years.

I married my wife in Korea and when we got back to the U.S., we spent a few days in S.F. She didn’t want to ride in a cable car. Can you belive it?

We didn’t have a “real” Honeymoon, either. A friend got us a night at a local swanky hotel (where we were too tired to take advantage of amenities, AND there was a fire alarm at 3am), the next day we changed our paperwork at our jobs & some other things, then the next day it was all back to normal…oh, except he was still living at his dad’s apartment & I was still living at a friend’s house.

My grandmother told us for years that she and Grandpa had gone to Niagara Falls for their honeymoon, which was a popular destination for that in the 30s. She finally told me she. I was about 22 that they never had a honeymoon at all. I asked her why she said they did and she replied “I didn’t want you to think we were poor.” Everything worked out okay. After my grandfather became a success they made numerous trips abroad and around the country. They were married for 64 years. Interestingly, she also only got an engagement ring for their 25th anniversary. Grandpa, the wise guy, said “I wanted to make sure it would work out.” But in reality they could just about afford the wedding ring. Times were hard during the Depression and people made do. Gordon and Tracey will be together forever like my grandparents and devoted til the end. They don’t. Red much to be happy.

We were together for years before we got married. After a small wedding we went to Vegas. Before the wedding we invited family and friends on our honeymoon/ trip. 14 people decided to go, we all flew out together and stayed at the same hotel. We had a riot. Even after all these years when we are around those that went the conversation always turns to the best honeymoon they ever went on, lol.

When me and the jerk ex husband got married we didn’t have much money so we couldn’t afford an expensive honeymoon, so we rented a cabin at one of the state forests and had a wonderful time for not much money, we cooked out on grill every night seeing that closet town with restaurants was 45 minuted away and we wanted the true cabin staying feeling of grilling every night. They had a little amusement park, a pool for paying guests of cabins, a deer ranch and hiking trails. We never got bored and our cabin had a fireplace and we used it everyday even though it was end of June. He always promised me he would take me to Hawaii for our 25th but the weasel got out of that seeing that he walked out on me 3 weeks before our 23rd anniversary and our divorce was finalized 3 weeks before the 25th anniversary would have been.

They were still together when Mike and Deanna got hitched (for real, not for show): they were the witnesses. M and D’s “Show” wedding took slightly less planning than the Normandy Invasion (spoilers)
