I would say that Matt Landry is not even noticing the girls, but then again, he has no eyes, so it makes sense. How did he drive Elizabeth and Dawn to school with no eyes?

If these girls want to attract Matt Landry, they are going to need to put on something that would attract him by smell or maybe by hearing. His ears are enormous.

No doubt someone has a theory that says equal people cannot or should not compete. Makes no sense to reasonable people, though.

Are girls really so keen to chase boys? This was never obvious to me when I was young. Perhaps I was a slob.

When this strip first ran on October 5, 1995… It was “this is the 90s!”

Perhaps it’s my age showing, or perhaps it’s a younger generation thing, but the more a girl primps herself with heavy lipstick, rouge/blush, eye-liner (especially the exaggerated cat eyes look), fake eye lashes, large dangling ear-rings, and an over use of perfume, the more I prefer to keep a girl like that distant from me. You begin to look clownish with all that make-up which only belies a desperate desire to be noticed. Guys catch on real quick to such a thing and recognize such a girl as high maintenance.

This is the year 2024. Not only are men equal to women, those transgenders that were born males can now even compete and join on women’s sports teams. Although there are some people still complain that those born as males and are now females still have bigger muscles and are usually the ones who win the games and place in first place compared to the naturally born females!

If you want to pass it for 2024, you must redraw it with smartphone.

Ontario schools banned smartphones this year, so this 1995 strip is strikingly contemporary. The dates of this strip are modified to match the current calendar year, and minor changes are made to ‘dated’ references in the dialogue. Lynn is doing just fine and has a new series of children’s books, ALOTTABOTZ.

Wait, I thought this took place in the original time period. That’s why they don’t have cell phones and stuff. Since when is it taking place today?

But the time they get out of the ‘Little Girl’s Room’ Matt will be long gone and they won’t see him again that day.

It’s astonishing the breadth of comments, especially when you go back to read the strip itself.

I prefer the dialogue to not be adjusted. No modern dates. No adjusting gas prices for inflation. Let them be true reruns. The hairstyles and fashion are clearly mid-90s, so stop pretending otherwise.

Elizabeth, that is the problem with your thinking. YOU ARE NOT EQUAL TO A MAN! If you can’t pee accurately into a bucket from 4 feet away while standing, or father a child you are not equal to a man.

HOWEVER, EVERY PERSON NO MATTER THEIR SEX SHOULD BE TREATED EQUALLY!!!

You see MEN are also not equal to women either. Not unless they can birth a baby and feed it naturally. There is nothing wrong with being what you are, be it a woman or a man, just remember that to be treated as an equal you must treat others as an equal.

I feel like the main point t is that…for all the talk about “being equal”, yeah, we all think we should think that, but no one really WANTS that to be true. The girls argue FOR equality but the act out competitively, because that is our nature.I think we can all be equal and still try to be competitive because equality doesn’t achieve anything. If all the girls (and guys) believed in equality, they would not try for a mate or a job, they would just let whatever happens, and we would die as a society. Competition helps the best to win and those will be the ones to drive society on, and encourage those ‘lesser’ to work harder or fall behind.

While I can’t speak for Matt as for myself, I never liked girls/ladies that used too much makeup. Natural beauty is where its at.

2024? I thought that when the author re-booted the cartoon, she actually went back in time as we already knew who Michael married, etc. And, everything about the strip seems to hark back to pre-2000. My spouse and I were both surprised by the announcement that it is 2024.
