With friends like Candace, who needs enemies?

On the other hand, maybe Liz deserved what she got, by playing games.

The stink lines over Elizabeth’s head in the final panel lets the reader know that when Elizabeth is angry, her head smells bad.

With a “friend” like Candace, who needs enemies?

SPOILER ALERT: In future years, we’ll find out that Candace is a much more complex—and sympathetic—character than she is here.

With friends like that, who needs enemies? Poor Liz.

Elizabeth was conflicted on breaking up with Anthony. She wasn’t sure, and Candace was the one primarily pushing her, and then “helpfully” offering to do it for her.

It appears that Candace saw an opening, and widened it on her own initiative, for her own purpose.

Candace manipulated Liz into believing breaking up (something of which she was still not sure) was a done deal, and then convinced her that it would be better if it was done by a third party. Once it was fait accompli, she turned the discussion around and blamed Liz (“so low-class!”).

Elizabeth is minus one boyfriend, and minus one faux-friend.

Lesson learned by poor Liz…

Girls are catty

Liz needs to learn that’s what happens when you date, and break up with a guy by committee. She couldn’t make up her mind and had to discuss it with her friends, and then took the low road to have her friend do the hard/uncomfortable work of breaking up with her boyfriend.

The first woman teamed up with a snake and it trickled down through the ages. A man will just punch you in the face but a woman will hit you from every possible angle.

Liz is a coward and Candace is just plain mean.

And just like that, you know she’s not your friend.

Everybody tries different things when they’re kids. She found out the easy way isn’t always the best way. No biggy. Trial and error. Now she just needs to drop ’em both. Lesson learned.

There isn’t a single innocent party in this not even Anthony who didn’t bother to even check with Liz for the facts

Candace has just proved that she is NOT your friend.
