I agree!
FRANK… look at you… the RED undies prove you are in the second round…!
Must be rough with no neck.
None of this piecemeal stuff, I’m holding out for a whole body transplant.
I’m with him. Used to be a lot more flexible, physically and mentally, than now. Now I amuse myself listening to the creaks and groans of parts that wish they were younger too.
Second childhood, no way! I’m not leaving my first.
Some people grow old and others never grow up.
as I approach the golden ages
things do become undone.
with body parts in different stages
of blowing out or up when on the run.
my ears are plugged my eyes are dim
my body isn’t very slim
and when I inquire just why this gaff
I seem to hear a wicked laugh
that echoes ’round inside my skull
and seems to bang from wall to wall
and like a screaming crazy gull
proclaims “because” and that is all!
“Inside every old person is a young person wondering what the heck happened.”
- Cara Harvey Armstrong
Dunno who she is, but the quote is brilliant.
Dr. Asimov, in his last couple of decades, used to say, “I’m in my late youth. I say ‘late’ because it’s dead.”
The spirit is willing but the flesh has already peaked.
I’m in my ’can’t do that no more’ period.
You got that right!
My mind says, “Oh yeah, that sounds like fun”; my body says, “Have you lost what little mind you have left?”
