How very Kafka-esque: The meaning of life is that we are each like the supplicant in ‘The Trial’, potentially before a gatekeeper who balks at easily allows entry. “… but the doorkeeper refuses to let him past, even though the man waits in front of the gate for his entire lifetime. When the man dies, the doorkeeper closes the gate and reveals that the gate existed for that man alone.“
We have several boxes of Life magazines in our attic that my dad bought, issue by issue at flea markets. I think primarily because he liked some of the old advertisements in them.
