Many men don’t realize they can use up to five (5) free direction-askings at a gas station without having to turn in their Man Cards. I used one of mine nearly 30 years ago in front of a woman I had recently met. In April we celebrate our 25th Anniversary. And I still have two (2) left!
It’s said that Germans don’t have a female voice for their sat navs because they don’t like to be told what to do by a woman. Not sure how true that is.
My dad (who has a LOUSY sense of direction and I actually ended up reading the map whenever we went anywhere because he would just get us lost (this was back in the 70’s and 80’s, pre GPS) still refuses to believe his maps app. Gets into arguments with it and yells at because the GPS doesn’t know the best route. So… when my parents are an hour late, I call and mom will tell me how dad was driving but didn’t believe the GPS was right and went a different way.

I am never reluctant to ask for directions, even though I’ve frequently been given incorrect ones.

Well technically you’re not asking if it’s gonna tell you anyway.
