I had my appendix cut out and tossed as a warning to any other organs that weren’t pulling their weight. My life ever since has been one collective “Oh, YEAH, tough guy?!” from the other organs.
You can’t begin to know, Youngster. When you reach my point in life, just being around for another day is a positive achievement, and one shouldn’t expect your aged body to behave as though it were still 26 (optimal age for physical condition)….

Betrayal in the form of an apelike face forming on top of your head?

Try your luck. What’s achy today. Who had left pinky toe in the pool?

Various parts of my body have gone on strike. Who nose why?
— My feet have left me flat
— My knees won’t bend to my will
— My hips have become hippy dippy in bad weather, man
— My belly is beerly containable
— My chest is drooping into my drawers
— My arms have surrendered unconditionally
— My fingers are picketing with my nose
— My head has hair today but that might be gone tomorrow
— All that’s left faithful is my Brain, my second favorite organ since my favorite has gone a-prostate.

My body is a Greek temple. In ruins, and falling apart.

I’ve reached that age too. It’s better than being dead, but only slightly.

And I would have gotten away with it too, if it weren’t for those meddling telomeres and their stupid Hayflick Limit.

That age would be birth.

Had I known that I would have lived this long, perhaps I’d have taken better care of myself … but I doubt it!

From African Mumps to dishpan hands.
And I lost every race that I ever ran

Made it. Getting old does suck. Trust me on that one.

Unless he’s an inveterate pessimist, that fella doesn’t look old enough to be saying that.
