Tomatoes are both. The are fruits botanically/scientifically so are cucumbers and peppers but in culinary they are classified as vegetables in cooking. Even have been declared vegetables, legally, as part of trade and other things.
I like The Thing from Outer Space (in large part because of the dialogue and characters and the relationship between Margaret Sheridan and Kenneth Tobey) and Alien (because I saw it in a movie theater and it was scary and because of Sigourney Weaver’s character).
So, the movie was crusty, sort of cheesy, and wound up with lots of pureed tomatoes. With a dash of oregano and some fresh basil, it would be pizza party worthy fare.I must admit, though the television cartoon series had a catchy theme song.
The New York City Halloween Parade begins this evening with coverage on a local channel at 6PM. Many participants stream the action on YouTube, so if you are not a subscriber to the online news service, you can see it there! It’s a great show.

It’s a fruit disguised as a vegetable.

Knowledge is knowing tomato is a fruit. Wisdom is not putting it in a fruit salad.

One of the characters in Kate’s movie is played by Jack Riley, who will always be remembered as Mr. Carlin in the great sitcom “The Bob Newhart Show”.

Shawm is correct! My heirloom tomatoes came up beautifully this year! I’m planning on growing more!
